During the initial 15 minute consultation, be sure to ask any questions you may have about counseling, telehealth, and services provided by Diverse Counseling Solutions. Once it’s determined that we are a good fit for the counseling services you are seeking, the first appointment will be scheduled.
You will then receive the initial paperwork and consent forms to be completed prior to that start of your first session. By this time, the agreed upon form of payment will be established and the rates for services made clear.
In the first session, you will share with the counselor your concerns, needs, and overall reason for attending counseling. Through the first few sessions, you and your counselor will work to establish goals and will even talk through how you would like to work toward these goals together.
Most clients experience some relief after the initial session, and some, due to the unfamiliarity of counseling, take just a little longer. The purpose is to grow toward your goals in a safe, confidential environment through empathetic listening, reflection, unconditional positive regard and feedback from a licensed and trained professional.
Do I have to come to an office or can I do therapy from my computer, tech device, or phone?
Once you have your initial consultation with us, we can in that moment determine what you’d prefer-in person or telehealth. Your needs and preferences will determine the course of treatment we will take.
Diverse Counseling Solutions has a beautiful office space where you can attend sessions in person as well as HIPAA compliant technologies that allow us to do therapy virtually. Your choice!
